BankNewport announced two recent positions. Diana Figueroa has been named vice president, community lending officer. In her new role, Figueroa is responsible for helping individuals—particularly those in underserved or low-to-moderate income communities—gain access to affordable home loans. She assists clients throughout the mortgage process, from application to documentation, while also cultivating relationships with key community stakeholders, including local businesses and nonprofit organizations.
Figueroa brings more than two decades of experience in mortgage lending and community outreach. Most recently, she served as a mortgage loan officer at Washington Trust in Warwick, RI. Prior to that, she held a similar position at Shamrock Home Loans in Rumford, RI. Her career has been defined by a commitment to expanding access to financial resources for individuals and families throughout Rhode Island. Diana holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island. She is a resident of Providence.
BankNewport has also named Julio Jimenez to Vice President, Branch Manager of South Angell Street Branch in Providence where he will be responsible for branch operations, customer experience, and team development. Jimenez brings extensive experience in the financial services industry to his new position, most recently with Santander Bank as a branch manager on Atwells Avenue.
