Spring Bull Gallery, an artist cooperative founded in the historic seaside community of Newport Rhode Island in 1990, offers original fine art in many styles and mediums that reflect the diverse visions of its members.
About Spring Bull Gallery:
In 1990, founder Richard Grosvenor, together with six of his artist friends, decided to open a new cooperative art gallery at the corner of Spring and Bull Streets in the seaside resort city of Newport, Rhode Island. The Gallery/Studio went by the name “Spring Bull”. Since moving to its present location, 55 Bellevue Avenue in December 1994, the cooperative has grown to include a total of 16 award winning artist members offering a diversity of style and media including watercolor, oil, pen and ink, acrylic, sculpture, carved wood, pastel, monotype, colored pencil, and more.
The philosophy of the gallery has been not only to provide fine art for the serious collector but to encourage a “user-friendly” approach for those individuals new to art collecting who may otherwise be intimidated by making art selections. Visitors are always greeted with a warm welcome by one of our artist members and are encouraged to look as long as they like, to ask questions concerning an artist or a particular piece of work and invited to return as often as they wish for our changing exhibits throughout the year.
Spring Bull Gallery sponsors four to five open shows each year open to all local artists to submit their work, one of which is the much anticipated “Fakes and Forgeries” during January and February and our Annual Summer and Holiday Little Picture Shows.
We invite you to review the individual profiles of our current members.
Please stop in to enjoy. We can’t wait to see you all in person. The Gallery is wheelchair friendly.
