ART! 9th annual Poetry & Art at Wickford Art
POETRY & ART Returns to Wickford
The 9th Annual Poetry & Art project will open on Friday- October 8, 2021. An annual event whereby original art or original poetry lead a response from our creative community, 2021’s theme is COLOR. This year’s event was led by original artwork by both member and non-member artists, their work was assigned to a team of poets for response through written prose. These poets were chosen through an application process and jury and represent some of the region’s finest.
In all, 42 original art works and poems will be display in-gallery through October 24th, a Virtual Gallery of images will be available at https://wickfordart.org/exhibits-2021/9th-annual-poetry-art/, and a limited-edition publication displaying all companion artwork and poems will be available for purchase.
On Saturday 10/9 (4-5:30pm) and Sunday 10/10 (3-4:30pm), Wickford Art will host poetry readings of exhibited work and small public receptions in tents set up in the WAA garden. The gallery will also be available for viewing during these special hours.

The Wickford Art Association is a non-profit organization with approximately 475 members from Rhode Island and across New England. The association hosts art exhibits, classes, lectures, and workshops in its North Kingstown gallery and has produced the summertime Wickford Art Festival since 1962.
