Community Market Opens in Warwick (Limited Hours) Expanding Affordable Grocery Access
Ocean State Food Pantry and FeedRI Partner to Launch Affordable Community Market in Warwick
New market will provide affordable access to groceries and household essentials for individuals and families facing food insecurity
Ocean State Food Pantry, a ministry of Legacy Church (a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization), and FeedRI are proud to announce a new partnership to expand food access and support families in need through the opening of a new affordable community market at 211 Buttonwoods Ave., Warwick, RI.
The community market and pantry will officially open to the public on October 8, offering affordable groceries and household necessities in a dignified shopping environment designed to serve individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. The initiative reflects a shared commitment between Legacy Church and FeedRI to create sustainable, community-based solutions that address hunger throughout Rhode Island.
Modeled in part after FeedRI’s successful Hope Market in Rumford, the new Warwick location will provide community members with access to nutritious food and essential household items at significantly reduced or no cost. The market also builds upon FeedRI’s extensive work supporting Rhode Island residents through its food pantry programs in schools and its statewide food rescue initiatives.
“The launch of this market represents the power of partnership and community action,” said a spokesperson for Ocean State Food Pantry. “By working together with FeedRI, we are creating a welcoming resource that helps individuals and families stretch their budgets while ensuring access to quality food and essential items. It enables us to feed people, build community, and share hope.”
The market will be open during the following hours:
Thursdays: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Third Saturday of each month: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
A special Dedication Ceremony celebrating the partnership and grand opening will be held on Sunday, October 25 at 1:30 p.m., bringing together community leaders, supporters, volunteers, and local residents to recognize the impact this new resource will have on the Warwick community and the West Bay.
FeedRI’s involvement will help strengthen the market through operational guidance and support informed by years of experience operating Hope Market and addressing food insecurity across Rhode Island. Through this collaboration, both organizations aim to increase access to affordable food while preserving dignity and choice for those they serve.

ABOUT FEEDRI
Comprised of three initiatives, FeedRI’s focus is on providing food and other necessities for those who need it most in our community. Thanks to donations from stores, restaurants, and other corporate partners, FeedRI is one of the leading food rescue missions in Rhode Island and has proudly served over 75 non-profit groups since inception. HOPE MARKET
Home to Hope Market, a budget-friendly marketplace in Rumford that provides goods to underserved communities. This market allows those who are experiencing difficult times to get the supplies and food they need. Anyone is welcome to visit Hope Market.
