ART! A Conversation on Art Collecting with Yng-Ru Chen, Michael Rose, Dominic Molon
Thinking about starting an art collection but not sure where to begin?
Join Yng-Ru Chen, Michael Rose, and Dominic Molon for a conversation about the art of collecting. Together, they’ll share perspectives from across the art world, offering practical advice and insights for new and aspiring collectors.
Yng-Ru Chen is the founder and CEO of Boston-based Praise Shadows Art Gallery, which showcases emerging and mid-career contemporary artists, as well as the co-founder of the North Adams, MA art fair Arrival.
Michael Rose is Gallery Manager at the Providence Art Club, where he oversees exhibitions featuring hundreds of artists, and is also an art writer, advisor, and appraiser.
Dominic Molon is the RISD Museum’s Richard Brown Baker Curator of Contemporary Art and Interim Chief Curator, with decades of experience organizing exhibitions of leading contemporary artists.
The conversation will explore how to discover artists, develop your own collecting interests, navigate galleries and the art market, and make thoughtful decisions about what to buy. Whether you’re considering your first purchase or looking to take your collection in a new direction, this conversation offers an approachable introduction to the joys and possibilities of collecting.
