Back-to-School: Amazon DNI Carrier Team gives 200 filled Backpacks to Highlander Charter School children

For the third year, DNI Carriers participated in Amazon’s Together, We Give Back-to-School campaign. This year, the independent delivery service partner (DSP) that delivers Amazon packages, owned by Michael Diaz, donated approximately 200 backpacks filled with school supplies to Highlander Charter School in Providence.

The impact went further than one school. Highlander Charter held a dinner for the students, and there were enough supplies for the school to share with a neighboring school that was in need.

In Michael’s words:

“This is also personal to me. I understand how important it is for children to have the materials they need when they walk into the classroom. For us, this is about more than delivering packages — we work in these communities every day, and we believe it is our responsibility to give back and help local children begin the school year prepared to succeed.”

DNI Carriers is one of up to 1,000 DSPs and 350 Hub Partners participating in Together, We Give this year — a delivery partner-led initiative where each participant donates enough supplies to support 100 students and, for the first time, a teacher. The campaign plans to impact more than 100,000 students with more than 1 million supplies nationwide. In Rhode Island, 3 delivery partners made donations.
