Gimme’ Shelter: Here’s CUPCAKE at the RI SPCA – Cheryl Tudino

Hi there, I’m Cheryl, a volunteer at the RISPCA in Warwick-dog walker, treat dispenser, and part-time hype woman for our adoptable pups.

Have you ever encountered a cupcake you did not want or did not like? Exactly. Said no one, ever. Which brings me to the RISPCA’s very own Cupcake. 🧁

This sweet Lab mix is equal parts cuddle bug cake with a gentle goofball layer of frosting. At first, he can be a bit like a cupcake fresh out of the oven: a little warm, a little unsure, and best handled gently. But once he settles in and feels safe, he rises beautifully and becomes the kind of companion who specializes in quiet snuggles, soft affection, curling up next to his favorite human like a perfect frosted treat.

 

After a calm stroll or a relaxed play session, Cupcake’s favorite hobby is simply being close to his human. When this cupcake starts melting, his tail starts wagging like someone just opened the bakery door-adorable little bursts of joy that make him even more irresistible.

Because Cupcake can be a bit shy at first, he would do best with a patient family willing to let him defrost his frosting at his own pace and celebrate his small victories along the way.

Cupcake has lived with other dogs before and may enjoy a calm canine companion. We’re not sure how this handsome guy would feel about feline siblings. Due to his gentle nature, he could do well with respectful kiddos who understand that even the sweetest cupcakes sometimes need a minute before sharing.
