ART! Women in Textiles in the Blackstone Valley – Pawtucket City Hall
Join the Pawtucket Commission on Arts & Culture for a City Gallery Reception
The Pawtucket Commission on Arts & Culture is inviting the public to a special Gallery Reception, in commemoration of Women’s History Month, entitled Women in Textiles in the Blackstone Valley.
The event will take place on Thursday, March 19th, from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm, at Pawtucket City Hall (137 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket).
The reception will feature an engaging display highlighting the history of women’s contributions to the textile industry, presented through compelling images and historical artifacts. The RI Spinners Guild will also give a demonstration.
Toba Weintraub, Chair of the City Gallery Committee, and Miriam Plitt, Chair of the Pawtucket Commission on Arts and Culture, invite the public to this special reception:

Women in Textiles in the Blackstone Valley is presented in collaboration with the Old Slater Mill Association. Historic photos from the local mills are on display and handwoven textiles by Carol Easton are on display as well as hand dyed yarns and different textile techniques by various artists.
Demonstrations of spinning and weaving by the RI Spinners Guild, featuring Easton and Chelsea Tuttle will be featured.
Light refreshments will be served. The Pawtucket City Gallery is managed by the Pawtucket Arts and Culture Commission.
