Rhode Island Weather for March 16, 2026
Morning: Conditions start cloudy and damp, with temperatures in the upper 30s to low 40s°F early on, rising gradually. Light to moderate rain is likely developing or already ongoing in spots, accompanied by patchy fog and southeast to south winds around 10-15 mph. It feels chilly and raw despite the above-freezing readings.
Afternoon: The day warms to highs in the mid-50s to around 60°F, but rain becomes steadier and heavier at times, with a chance of embedded thunderstorms producing locally heavy downpours. Winds strengthen from the south/southwest at 15-25 mph or higher, with gusts possible. A High Wind Watch is in effect from afternoon into the night across much of the state, and a Flood Watch begins early for potential excessive rainfall.
Evening: Rain continues, possibly intensifying or becoming steadier, with temperatures dropping back into the upper 40s to low 50s°F. Winds remain strong and gusty (High Wind Watch continues through late night), and conditions stay wet and breezy, with low visibility in heavier bands. Precipitation chances are very high overall (80-99% in most forecasts), with totals potentially significant.
It’s a C” day!
