Senior Agenda Coalition of RI to Host 2026 Legislative Leaders Forum: “Voices of Advocacy – Anchors of Hope”
The Senior Agenda Coalition of RI announces its 2026 Legislative Leaders Forum, titled “Voices of Advocacy – Anchors of Hope.” The event will take place on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Rhode Island College, Gaige Hall.
As Rhode Island’s aging population faces unprecedented challenges, including rising costs of living, a strained healthcare workforce, and a critical need for affordable housing, this forum serves as a vital bridge between policymakers and the people they serve. The event will bring together state legislative leaders, community advocates, and older Rhode Islanders for a structured dialogue on the policy priorities that define the quality of life for the state’s aging and disability community.
“Our theme, ‘Voices of Advocacy – Anchors of Hope,’ underscores the stability that strong voice provides during turbulent times,” said Carol Anne Costa, Executive Director of SACRI. “This forum is about more than a policy discussion; it’s about ensuring that aging in Rhode Island remains safe, dignified, and affordable for everyone.”
Event Highlights:
- Policy Briefing: An overview of SACRI’s 2026 legislative priorities regarding shifting demographics, economic security, affordability, and healthcare.
- Legislative Panel: A moderated discussion featuring key elected officials on current and proposed legislation, giving voice to lawmakers and constituents alike.
- Community Dialogue: Direct engagement between advocates, service providers, and constituents to share real-world impacts of state policy.

SACRI remains committed to its mission of elevating the voices of older adults and those who care for them. By fostering a direct line of communication with General Assembly leaders, the Coalition aims to amplify the voices of older Rhode Islanders to ensure their concerns and needs are fully considered as important policy and budget decisions are debated.
About SACRI: The Senior Agenda Coalition of Rhode Island is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the voices of older adults and their families. Through public education and policy advocacy, SACRI works to ensure that Rhode Island is a place where all can age with independence and security.
