Rhode Island Weather for February 28, 2026
SNOW CLEAN-UP DAY – today will be the best day of February – but time to push, shovel and move while we can as frigid temps are expected for part of next week.
Morning: We will start the morning cold and quiet, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the upper 20s to low 30s. A light northwest breeze will make it feel colder, and any leftover moisture may leave isolated slick spots early.
Afternoon: A mix of clouds and sunshine develops with highs reaching the upper 30s to near 40 degrees, perhaps reaching 50s offering modest improvement and limited melting where sun breaks through.
Evening: Skies become partly cloudy to mostly clear as temperatures fall back into the 20s and drop into the teens inland overnight, allowing refreezing and the potential for black ice.
Overall, it’s a “A-” day
