Rhode Island Weather for February 21, 2026
Morning
Lingering clouds and leftover flurries or spotty light snow showers are possible early, especially inland. Temperatures start in the mid-20s to near 30°F, with damp or slick spots possible on untreated surfaces.
Afternoon
Skies gradually brighten with partial sunshine developing. Highs reach the upper 30s to low 40s°F, helping melt any minor accumulation. A light breeze keeps it feeling cool but more comfortable.
Evening
Partly cloudy to mostly clear skies. TemperaÂtures fall into the upper 20s to low 30s°F with calm winds and dry conditions.
Overall Grade: B-
TODAY will be the stereotypical DAY BEFORE THE STORM which has a name – Hernando – as this major winter storm is headed directly to the state and most of the nearby coast. Coming in Sunday night and taking place throughout Monday, put your plans in place NOW for snow removal – get stocked up for a few days. Loss of power is a real possibility with this one – winds will whip around 50-75 in some cases. Latest look at accumulations:
