Rhode Island Weather for January 22, 2026
Morning:
The day starts cold and likely snowy or with light snow early, especially early morning hours. Temperatures are expected near 26–30°F, with light snow possible before tapering into mid-morning. Extended forecast data indicates some snow early with clouds later.
Afternoon:
Late morning into the afternoon should see mostly cloudy skies with diminishing snow chances. High temperatures are forecast to be around 32–34°F, still firmly in winter territory, and precipitation chances lower but not zero.
Evening:
Evening remains mostly cloudy and cold, with temperatures dropping again toward upper teens to low 20s. Any lingering flurries should be light and intermittent.
Overall Letter Grade: C+
A cold day with some early snow and persistent clouds makes this a typical mid-winter weather day — not extreme, but still chilly, gray, and occasionally snowy. It’s better than a storm day but less pleasant than a dry, sunny winter day.
Be Prepared for the Snow
Stay tuned for the snow forecast which is a wobbling, changing prediction from most meteorologists – how north will it go? We definitely need to keep watch on this – and make our preparations for at least 6 inches and power outages.
