I DON’T LIKE WHAT I SEE

 

It’s been 2 weeks since Charlie Kirk was murdered and I’m still reeling. I’m still so grieved that a man of faith who had the courage to stand up boldly and express himself (like him or not) was gunned down for his views and his speech. WE have been through this before. It’s nothing new to this young nation… unfortunately… but this one was devastating not only because the world could freeze, slow down and repeat play of the murder over and over due to technology, but also because of the rejoicing and cheering that took place afterwards on the socials.

 

Can you imagine, openly cheering about the death of Martin Luther King Jr, JFK, RFK, GANDHI or the HORTMANS in the public square, taking a video of yourself dancing and laughing about their murders and then posting it on social media if there was such a thing back then? OMG.  I cannot imagine it. I simply cannot. It’s subhuman. It’s impossible for me to imagine.

 

Once upon a time, long, long ago, people would come home from work and speak with friends or their spouse over a scotch and soda and let rip the inside thoughts they were having privately about an issue in the country that was just much too unsavory to share with polite society . That’s how we purged. It was private. Fast forward to 2025 and the crazed amongst us have posted videos of themselves celebrating, laughing and dancing after the assassination of a husband, son, friend, and father. I didn’t think people had THIS in them… but they do, and it’s been an ugly revelation about a large chunk of the people in this country. Not to be dramatic, but it’s a dark time for the soul of this nation.

 

I wonder out loud when I’m alone how so many young people AND OLDER FOLKS have grown so demented, cold and emotionally callous. I really can’t pinpoint THE GENESIS of it all because in my mind… It’s EVERYTHING.  It’s EVERYTHING ALL around us. The music, movies, the television we absorb. The teachers who put politics and cultural issues first before rational education of students. It’s the parents and their inability or want to discipline their children…  It’s the way we speak to one another. It’s the lack of gratitude for all we have living here in the WEST.  It’s the persecution of the faithful and the pushing aside of God while turning to self-idolization and aggrandizement. It’s the lawlessness in certain states and the defund the police movement.  It’s the lack of HEROS in society,  the lack of goodwill from human to human and the level of dishonesty in EVERYTHING we consume and participate in.

 

We are not an honest people anymore… if we really ever were. We are not honest with one another, to one another and we are not honest about the condition we are in as a collective people. Heck, we can’t even say there are only 2 genders anymore without someone threatening to burn down their community. Rhetorically, I ASK, “How did we get here”?

 

BUT WE CAN’T EVEN BE HONEST ABOUT THAT so we will never get an answer.

 

Though Charlie Kirk’s memorial on Sunday certainly gave me hope… nothing will change unless people want to get better and be better humans.  Nothing will change unless we become more disciplined. Nothing will change if we CAN’T disagree and debate. Nothing will change if we can’t be different without violence. Nothing changes unless something changes.

 

That’s pretty much it in a nutshell.

 

I’m in prayer A LOT recently. A lot. I’m there because I really don’t know what else to do… and I’m also there because I know deep in my heart many people don’t want to change. They just want to WIN. So, where does that leave us? What then?

 

It’s total madness.

“When certain obstructionists become too irritating, label them, after suitable BUILD UP, as fascists or NAZI’S and use the prestige of anti-fascist and tolerance organizations to discredit them. In the public mind constantly associate those who opposed us with those names which already have a “bad smell”. The association, after enough repetition, will become FACT in the public mind”.

 

The internet will say this is a hoax…. but the internet also told us COVID came from a wet market, the Russian DOSSIER was real, the HUNTER LAPTOP was fake and that they are not spraying anything nefarious into the atmosphere.

 

By the way… even if it is fake… isn’t it odd that… It’s EXACTLY WHAT THEY’RE DOING.

J.K. Rowling was doxxed and her life threatened for saying men can’t be women

 

Girls on high school sports teams were threatened with expulsion or losing their scholarships if they spoke out about trans men on their team and in their locker rooms

 

PARENTS WERE ARRESTED at school board meetings and labeled “domestic terrorists” by the BIDEN ADMINISTRATION for speaking out about the curriculum that was being taught to their children…

 

But all of a sudden…. These same people care about Jimmy Kimmel and FREE SPEECH.
