Gimme’ Shelter: Meet Hollywood, one of the most beloved dogs at the RISPCA – Cheryl Tudino
by Cheryl Tudino, RISPCA volunteer

Cheryl Tudino, RISPCA
Hi there, I’m Cheryl and I volunteer at the RISPCA shelter in Warwick by dog walking, fundraising and social media messaging. I am here to share with you a peek at your new adoptable BFF!
Meet Miss Hollywood!
The most beloved dog by all of our staff and volunteers. Hollywood is beautiful enough for the big screen, but she’s even better behind the scenes! Her favorite activity in this world is belly rubs and cuddles. We even describe playtime with this little house hippo as “therapy” because you feel better every time after being with her. Marilyn Monroe has nothing on this beautiful Hollywood Star.
I encourage you to pay miss Hollywood a visit and experience her sweet eyes borrowing deep into your heart and soul! She loves to be loved and loves to love! Unfortunately, this perfect girl was not always treated with the love and respect she deserves and had a very rough start to her life.
She, due to no fault of her own, has been at the RISPCA for several years and has spent too much of her young Hollywood life in a shelter. Hollywood would love nothing more than to get marathon belly rubs, bake in the sun outside in a yard like a baked potato, and give and get tons of kisses each day!
I have a hunch she would even like to maybe get the chance to sleep in a real dog bed or a dreamy bed with her new human!
If you’re looking for a faithful couch companion, and entertainment even better than the movies, Hollywood is the perfect gal for you. She would do best in a home with other children, and we are unsure if this Hollywood Diva would enjoy sharing the spotlight with other dog or cat siblings. Hollywood does walk well on a leash. She is a wee bit lazy, preferring short walks on the catwalk and red carpet only.
If you are interested in applying for this Hollywood Star, please fill out an adoption application! The application can be found on our website: https://www.rispca.org/adoptable-dogs.

She seems like such a sweet, beautiful “old soul”. Do you have any intention of introducing her to other dogs or cats? We have one of each, in addition to our 2 young adult daughters that live at home. Our cat thinks he is a dog and genuinely cannot tolerate cats. Our dog, although slightly fearful of our bold and playful cat, loves other dogs. Our dog is approximately 4yo, a coonhound mix. He’s super chill and lays on the couch watching us work from home all day, but would much rather have a canine buddy. We have a fenced in yard that abuts the woods and, weather permitting, we leave the sliding door open enough for the pets to come and go while we work.
After work and weekends we take our pup to the beach, local trails and “brewery hopping” to the canine friendly establishments near us.
Anyway, that is a snip-it about us. Of course the key question is regarding the interaction with other dogs and cats.
Hopefully you’re busy after introducing this sweet girl on the local TV station, but let me know your thoughts when time permits.
