We Cook! Mill’s Tavern’s Whole Heirloom Tomato Salad Arugula, Balsamic Glaze Stracciatella

This vibrant summer salad celebrates peak-season heirloom tomatoes, known for their natural sweetness. Complemented by creamy stracciatella, peppery arugula and a drizzle of balsamic glaze, it’s a simple and elegant summer dish.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 medium whole heirloom tomatoes
  • 2 cups of arugula
  • ½ cup stracciatella cheese
  • 2 tbsp. balsamic glaze
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • Sea salt and cracked black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

Assemble the Salad:

  • On a serving plate, arrange arugula as a base and nestle in the whole heirloom tomatoes.

Add the Cheese:

  • Spoon stracciatella over and around the tomatoes, allowing it to gently pool into the arugula.

 

Finish the Dish:

  • Drizzle with balsamic glaze and olive oil.
  • Season generously with sea salt and cracked pepper.
  • Garnish with torn basil leaves, if desired.
  • Serve immediately.
