Sally Lapides, Pres/CEO, Residential Prop. joins Federal Reserve Bank Business Advisory Council
Sally Lapides, President & CEO of Residential Properties Ltd., Joins Business Advisory Council at Federal Reserve Bank of Boston
Residential Properties Ltd. is excited to announce that President & CEO Sally Lapides has joined the Business Advisory Council representing the real estate business in New England at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Lapides is one of 11 new members to its external advisory councils: the New England Advisory Council, the Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council, and the New England Community Development Advisory Council, which consist of business and nonprofit leaders lending Bank insights into local economies and communities.
Recognized by Providence Business News and Rhode Island Monthly, among others, as a leading woman in business, Sally Lapides has instilled her values throughout every aspect of RPL’s operations, creating an inclusive environment with colleagues dedicated to the communities we serve. Involved in many important causes, she has provided oversight on the board of GAIA (Global Alliance to Immunize Against AIDS) and The Rhode Island Foundation’s Equity Action Campaign Committee, which raised $1 million for the LGBTQI+ community. Lapides also served on the board of Year Up Rhode Island, an organization dedicated to closing the opportunity gap for young adults, and has successfully mentored several students.
“I could not be more honored to join the Business Advisory Council for the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston,” Lapides said. “I am excited for the opportunity to share all that I’ve learned as the owner of an independent brokerage for more than 40 years in Southern New England, and to contribute to discussions that help shape economic policy in our region. Real estate is a people business, and the prospect of meaningful collaboration with other leaders across all areas is thrilling. I look forward to gaining a deeper understanding of economic trends and working to support the vitality of our local communities and beyond.”
“The perspectives we get from our external advisory groups are invaluable,” said Jeanne MacNevin, Boston Fed vice president, corporate secretary and chief of staff. “They amplify the voices – the perspectives – from local communities and industries that are so critical to the Federal Reserve’s First District.”
The New England Advisory Council (NEAC) is made up of leaders of small to mid-sized businesses in the First District. It offers policymakers insights into current economic conditions and gives the Bank perspectives on a variety of business variables, including employment, labor-market dynamics, wages, prices, and capital spending.
As the President of a woman-owned, family-run company, Lapides will be sharing insights with other influential business and economic strategists across New England, from Mike Vail, President of Hannaford Supermarkets, and Julie Fallon Hughes, President & CEO of Adams Community Bank, to Mufalo Chitam, Executive Director of Maine Immigrant Rights Coalition and Chase Hagaman, Director of the New Hampshire Division of Economic Development. This robust, diverse consortium, with Lapides representing real estate in New England, will play a significant role in shaping the economic landscape for years to come.
