ORANGE ON A TOOTHPICK 

Hey gang!  Anyone else feel like their heads may explode from recent news cycles? Mine feels like AN ORANGE ON A TOOTHPICK. WOW! NEVER a dull moment with this new administration! From the confirmations, to a Democrat lawmaker saying he’s hiding an “illegal” in his garage apartment (WTH) to tariff chat, the gutting of govt. agencies THAT SEND checks to terrorist groups, illegals DEMONSTRATING against deportation in the streets (they really are making it easy for ICE to round em up BTW…. you’d think they’d be hip to this! ) and the outrage over EGG PRICES!!!!!

THESE are just a few of the things I see when I peek at the TV on a daily basis, but there’s SO MUCH MORE!  Way back in the day when I first started doing radio we would have what we called “slow news days” – from time to time and we would have to interview someone about the HISTORY OF TOILET PAPER (surprisingly fascinating!) or book an interview with JANE FONDA about WHATEVER OR Bob Dole talking about his erectile dysfunction ads on TV!!!  We did!

Senator Dole said “I did it for the MONEY!” HELL, at least he was man enough to admit it! POINT IS, there were slowwww news days. Not anymore!  Those days are over. I can’t keep up with everything going on. It’s story after story after outrage after fake HYSTERIA blah blah blah… Coincidentally folks… that’s exactly the way TRUMP is playing this. That is not by accident and it’s an age old political tactic called “FLOODING THE ZONE”. What FLOODING THE ZONE does is overwhelm and knock out the system/media landscape (sending the Dems into a state of confusion and panic) with a “torrent of measures, announcements and dismissals”. Just pounding the news cycle with all kinds of things he doing in D.C over and over and over.

I would say after two weeks he’s got the far left gasping and on their heels with zero answers other than Chuck Schumer holding up a can of CORONA BEER and a sad looking avocado in a presser. THAT’S mental. What’s worse than that? In an effort to fight back, the Dems have just elected a screeching David Hogg as VICE CHAIR to the DNC. THIS… is what they’ve come up with. Literally. David Hogg. DAVID HOGG who supports DE-FUNDING POLICE and ABOLISHING ICE. That’s so 2020 and a lost Presidential election. Like I say to my friends when they come up with harebrained ideas that are beyond insane… “I wish you luck in all your endeavors”. You’re gonna need it.

(P.S Oprah, though a radical Democrat now… will not appreciate Hogg’s thoughts on BILLIONAIRES… stay tuned my friends…)

FLY LIKE AN EAGLE

As a hardcore New England PATS FAN you know damn well who I won’t be rooting for this weekend. Hell no. Mahomes and Kelce flopping around on the field like LeBron does ON the court is so insane. I really hate seeing that as well as the PHANTOM calls and the NO calls and the absolute UNFORGIVABLE calls that all seem to benefit the CHIEFS. The chatter about this and whether the FIX IS IN on Sunday got so loud this past week that Roger Goodell had to make a statement about it before the SUPER BOWL and go on record as saying “it’s ridiculous” for people to say it’s rigged or scripted. Nah. Not ridiculous, sir.  Former Pros in the league are even suggesting this now. It’s bad and OBVIOUS if you ask me. The officiating has gotten worse as the years go on, and me, I’m saying it’s a betting/$ scandal. Las Vegas and the bettors own the NFL. Plain and simple.  Do we really think a billion dollar industry isn’t ripe with corruption? Ya…. think again. In the end, whatever happens… PEOPLE all over the country will place an asterisk next to the Chiefs name if they win with controversy SUNDAY. A WHIFF of any REFEREE controversy… and it’s a illegitimate win. I won’t bet on the game, but I’d bet ON THAT… YEP.  100$ ON THE REFS TO TOSS A FLAG AT A PIVOTAL GAME CHANGING MOMENT. But hey… what do I know?

WINTER

HAS anyone else noticed what whimps New Englanders have become (some at least in RI) when it comes to winter? If I remember correctly December was relatively mild and we didn’t suffer with really nasty temps until January. On Nov 1st, 2024, in Providence, RI it was 77 degrees. Yea. You read that right. January was a smidge tougher because we had some bitter cold days here and there and wind, but now we are in February without substantial snowfall or sustained hardcore drop dead freezing temps for weeks and weeks and all I hear is: “OH MY GOD! WHERE IS SPRING? I’M SO OVER WINTER”… “I’M READY FOR WARM”… “I can’t wait for SUMMER”… “I HATE WINTER”. PEOPLE. WE here have had nice comfortable weather MAY-JUNE-JULY-AUG-SEPT-OCT-NOV… THAT’S 7 months of nice/ semi nice weather. Dec. it starts to get colder, but it was 59 degrees in Providence just a few days before Christmas. I’m just wondering what’s going on? 

What happened to everyone? I mean… think about the pilgrims who had no shelter or heat or anything. They came ashore froze their a–es off and  many died… and WE complain about 2 maybe 3 months of winter? We used to take great pride in gutting it out. Grinding it out while helping our neighbors and making sure we shovel a path for the mailman so he doesn’t slip and fall. Now…. its just pathetic. Anyway, Let me know what you think about this or anything else in this column in the comment section below. I love hearing from you all! Oh full disclosure… I LOVE WINTER… and strongly dislike heat waves and bursting into flames at 7am on a July morning when I’m walking the dogs after 2 seconds…
