Andrade-Faxon Charities for Children distributes over $400,000. Over $9.2M in 30 years.
Billy Andrade – Brad Faxon Charities for Children Distributes $406,753.00 to 62 Deserving RI and MA Charities Who Help At-Risk Children.
Total dollars given, spanning more than 30 years, amounts to $9,265,349.
The Andrade – Faxon Charities for Children mailed out 62 checks totaling $406,753. to Rhode Island and Southeastern Mass 501(c)3 organizations.
Andrade and Faxon, grew up in Rhode Island and became professional golfers who made their mark on the PGA TOUR and the CHAMPIONS TOUR. Currently, Brad lives in Palm Beach, FL and Billy resides in Atlanta, GA.
Annually, their charity receives hundreds of grant applications from area charities requesting funds for numerous projects, and programs for the benefit of the children they serve.
“Billy and I are thrilled to share that the Andrade – Faxon Charities for Children has donated $406,000 to 62 kids’ charities across Rhode Island this year. For over 30 years, we’ve been passionate about helping local children and giving back to the community that means so much to us. We’re incredibly grateful for the support that makes it possible to keep making a difference in the lives of these kids.” stated Brad Faxon.
Amounts requested hover between $4,000. – $10,000. each. Billy and Brad read every application and have developed a system for evaluating each request. This year they are buying a horse for a therapeutic riding center, filling many food pantries, providing dollars for after-school enrichment programs, sports education, charter schools, scholarships, and mental health services.
Billy Andrade explained how hard it is to fund some and deny others. “We wish we could fund 100% of the requests, but that would mean zero funds next year, so we have to trim it back. This year is the highest total dollars we have ever given out, because the need is so great.”
Andrade and Faxon started their charity in 1992, before all of the other sport charities were born. Surprisingly, 97¢ of every donated dollar goes directly to the charitable organizations.
