Rhode Island Tax Compliance Day in-person event to resolve tax related issues, Jan. 13th
Tax Compliance Day is an event hosted periodically by the Division of Taxation to give taxpayers an opportunity to seek resolution for your complex Rhode Island and/or federal tax issues in easily accessible locations and at convenient times. The event will be held on MONDAY, January 13th from 10am to 6pm at Alger Hall, Room 110 at Rhode Island College, 600 Mount Pleasant Avenue, in Providence.
Tax Compliance Day events are intended to help taxpayers access representatives from the IRS, the RI Division of Taxation, and other state and federal agencies, all in the same location at the same time.
Examples of services provided at Tax Compliance Days:
RI Department of Labor and Training’s Employer Tax Unit
RI Division of Taxation
Tax status updates
Balance resolutions including Payment Plans and Offer in Compromise considerations
License and Registration clearances
IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS)
Wage and income transcript for VITA to prepare returns
On-site resolution to IRS account issues and if unable to resolve on the spot will create a case

Free Tax Preparation as far back to 2017 for both the federal and state personal income tax returns
E-file TY2022, TY2021 and TY2020
Paper file for TY2019, TY2018 and TY2017
RI Department of State’s Division of Business Services

Entity status checks
General filing and maintenance information
State-level licensing information
Reinstatement (entity specific filing requirements and/or filing assistance)

- Walk-ins are welcomed.
You do not need to wait for the next Tax Compliance Day to resolve your tax-related issues.

By Car:
Please note, while parking in Lot C is normally recommended for events in Alger Hall, due to construction on campus, Rhode Island College advises that parking in Lot C may be difficult. Attendees may find it easier to park in either lot D or B for best ease of access.
For additional campus information, please see RIC’s campus map at: https://ric.college-tour.com/ [ric.college-tour.com]. Alger Hall is Building 19 on the campus map.
Despite construction, accessible parking spots are still available in Lot C. Additional accessible spots are designated around the periphery of the Alger Hall building.
