WHO NOT TO FORGET WHEN TIPPING (or gifting) DURING THE HOLIDAYS!

A LOT of folks hate the idea of tipping people these days and really, I get that. EVERYONE and their Aunt Tilly wants a tip… and mostly, people think they are entitled for EXTRA just for doing their damn job! (I mean, should there really be a TIP JAR at the MOBILE GAS STATION counter down the street from me?) BUT, during the holidays there are folks that should get a little love, and I just wanted to remind you that POSITIVE acknowledgement can go a long way in this crazy world full of self-idolatry and a ‘me first’ attitude. It’s really a spotlight on all the people that make your world spin round! SO- WHO DO I TIP (or have tipped in the past) at CHRISTMAS TIME???? HERE GOES!

Now… it IS HARD to give EVERYONE a token of appreciation, I WISH I COULD DO MORE!  BUT… I try my best. In the end, I REALLY believe it’s the thought that counts (even though eyes are rolling everywhere for saying that). If it’s only a $20 dollar tip or “THANK YOU” for being such an “important part of my daily routine” gift, it’s better than not ACKNOWLEDGING THEM at all! Don’t forget the people that make your life easier, or better or just FREE OF UNNECESSARY STRESS! Tis the season to be a little more generous. It can be hard… I know… but giving is where it’s at. People remember how you MADE THEM FEEL… that’s what gets into our hearts. So make them feel happy! That could be the only happy some people get this year.

THE BIRD THAT CAN’T FLY

This has haunted me for 50 years. Can someone tell me why we don’t talk enough about how the elf murdered the bird who CAN’T FLY during “RUDOLPH THE RED NOSED REINDEER” end credits? AFTER SANTA rescues all the unique toys from the “ISLAND OF MISFIT TOYS”, he delivers them to various locations by giving them an umbrella to float safely down to their intended destination… EXCEPT for the BIRD WHO CAN’T FLY. The ELF handling this situation picks up the bird, looks at it, shrugs, and tosses it overboard without the UMBRELLA! IT’S TRUE!!! THE ELF IS A SOCIOPATH. I KID YOU NOT…as a child this was an existential crisis for me. As an adult… I ponder if the people working on this deliberately did this to mess with kid’s heads. Would anyone really be surprised? JEROD MAYO

So many people are blaming the KRAFTS for hiring this guy with zero head coaching experience, thus leading to a woeful season. Actually, a really embarrassing season for the PATRIOTS. I’ve heard over and over and over on the radio and in print how Jerod “was put in a really bad position”… but spare me. What a load of horse crap. WHY are we letting JEROD off the hook? HE WOOED KRAFT. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. Kraft even admitted himself that he picked him the way he picked the women he’d marry… by using his gut. OH, for the LOVE OF GOD! That’s just horrible. The way I see it, JEROD was masterful at the sell. He must have read “THE ART OF THE SALE” by Philip Broughton. He knew what he wanted and went after it.

He knew Bill’s days were numbered.  SO, HE worked on KRAFT, hypnotizing him with charm, saying all the right things the right ways at the right times. He had nicknames for KRAFT and wowed him with leadership skills. I’d be willing to bet he laughed at all his jokes, told KRAFT stories of his fight and struggles and convinced him he had a depth that made him more relatable. He was charming and seemed powerful. WHO wouldn’t be captivated by this man?  Now, that’s swell and all, but the bottom line is can he coach. Charm doesn’t = COACHING SKILLS. I’m sorry, it does not. Not even close.  SO FAR, it’s way more than a hot mess in FOXBORO. It’s a steaming hot pile.

It’s been a nightmare week after week, and I have found myself cleaning out the litter box and washing pillows and doilies on Sunday afternoons, rather than tuning in.  I’m really sick of hearing excuses. The KRAFTS know he’s NOT the guy in THEIR GUT at this point, but they are playing the game and subjecting the fans to another dreadful season of football before they pull the plug on this guy. I’ve said this all along, MAYO is super nice, I’ve met him, but he’s not a head coach. I want to be a ROCKSTAR … but I can’t sing. You may want to be a CHEF but can’t make spaghetti. You get what I’m saying? QUESTION is folks, will KRAFT do the right thing for the players, the organization, and the fans and admit his GUT was WAY OFF on this one? NAH… I don’t think so – nope. I don’t think he has it in him.
