New Radio Show Spotlighting High School Sports Premieres in Rhode Island
Rhode Island’s sports fans have a new reason to tune in with the launch of a radio show dedicated exclusively to high school sports in the Ocean State. Settling the Score will premiere on 105.5 FM, 1450AM, launching on December 7th at 10am and promises to bring listeners closer to the action, stories, and athletes shaping the local sports scene. The half hour show will air Saturday mornings at 10am and rebroadcast Sundays at 6pm.
Settling the Score is Rhode Island’s first radio show featuring High School and Amateur Sports year-round. Hosts are Rhode Island Broadcast Hall of Famer, John Parente and RINewsToday sportswriter, John Cardullo. And – Johnny Boots, producer/engineer.
The show will feature guests from the Rhode Island Interscholastic League, to Athletic Directors, Coaches, and Athletes from all over Rhode Island as they spotlight local amateur sports.
Plans are to cover high school sports, from football and basketball to softball, lacrosse, swimming, and track. The seasoned local sports commentators will feature game recaps, player interviews, coaching insights, and real-time sports updates. Special segments will also highlight standout performances, unsung heroes, and upcoming star athletes across the state.
“Rhode Island has a rich tradition of high school sports, and we’re excited to give these young athletes and their communities a dedicated platform,” said Cardullo. “Our goal is to shine a light on the stories and hard work that often go unnoticed, building a new level of support and excitement for high school sports.”
Listeners can also follow Settling the Score on social media channels to stay connected and even submit story ideas.
With high school sports deeply embedded in Rhode Island’s communities, Settling the Score aims to bring greater attention to the achievements and dedication of student-athletes across the state.
Tune in to Settling the Score every Saturday (and Sunday) on 105.5FM and 1450AM and celebrate the future stars of Rhode Island sports.
