It’s back! Hop-On Hop-Off Newport trolley

The free “Hop-On Hop-Off” Newport Bus will be rolling once again, beginning this Friday, May 24th.
Sponsored by Discover Newport, and the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island the announcement will be made officially at a RIPTA event TODAY at 10am at the Newport Transportation Center, 23 America’s Cup Avenue in Newport. Participating will be:

Evan Smith, President, Discover Newport
Christopher Durand, Interim Chief Executive Officer, Rhode Island Public Transit Authority
From historic mansions to the Tennis Hall of Fame to shopping on Thames Street and more, you can get around Newport on RIPTA’s classic green and gold hybrid trolley buses.
The service offers transportation around Newport to tourist destinations and beaches. This includes all service on Route 67 (Bellevue/Salve Regina Univ.) and Route 68 (CCRI/Memorial Blvd./First Beach). The service will be free through Thursday, October 31, 2024.
Hop-On Hop-Off Route 67 (Bellevue/Salve Regina Univ.)
Route 67 connects with popular tourist destinations such as the Newport Mansions, Cliff Walk, Audrain Automobile Museum, International Tennis Hall of Fame and more! Service runs every 20 minutes all day. Free bus service May 24 – October 31, 2024. Sponsored by Discover Newport.
Hop-On Hop-Off Route 68 (CCRI/Memorial Blvd./First Beach)
Route 68 connects neighborhoods in the North End of Newport to local beaches. This route operates between Newport’s North End, Aquidneck Industrial Park and First Beach. Important destinations include Rolling Green, Bayside Village, Dept. of Human Services, First Beach, Cliff Walk, Newport Transportation Center, CCRI Newport and Miantonomi Memorial Park. Free bus service May 24 – October 31, 2024. Sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island.
Discounted Parking for RIPTA Riders (May – October)
Park your car in the Newport Gateway Center Parking Garage. The parking garage is easily accessible by public transportation – and RIPTA riders pay $5 for daily parking. Ask your bus driver for a RIPTA Rider Receipt to access the parking discount (available on green and gold trolleys only).
The Newport Gateway Center Parking Garage is located at 23 America’s Cup Avenue, Newport.
