Get Your Holidays On! Family-friendly, early New Year’s Eve in downtown Providence
The Providence Tourism Council, the City of Providence and Mayor Brett P. Smiley invite you to get an early start in celebrating the New Year with a special Illuminate PVD Fireworks Celebration and mini-WaterFire lighting on December 31, 2023.
Event Highlights include:
- 5:30 pm – The Guild PVD and Food Trucks
- 7:00 pm – Roaming entertainment, artists and WaterFire Starts At Sunset lighting at the Pedestrian Bridge
- 8:30 pm – Illuminate PVD fireworks and lighting installations
Location: 195 District Park & Michael Van Leesten Pedestrian Bridge
“WaterFire is excited to be working with the Providence Tourism Council once again to bring back a special Starts at Sunset activation on the 29th anniversary of WaterFire’s first lighting in Providence,” sais Peter A. Mello, Managing Director + coCEO of WaterFire Providence.
Catch performances by the Providence Drum Troupe and the Extraordinary Rendition Band followed by an Illuminate PVD Fireworks show at 8:30 p.m. Jose Docen from Of Lions and Giants will be performing from 6:45 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. inside the PTC tent with refreshments available by Guild PVD Beer Garden.
Visitors can find A Silent Soapbox roaming on the Michael S. Van Leesten Pedestrian Bridge as the Winter Fairy from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Indulge in local food fairs and brews organized by Providence Parks Department like The Guild Beer Garden and Ming’s Asian Street Food which will be located in 195 District Park.
