ART! Call for entry to RI college students for exhibition at Providence Art Club
The Galleries of the historic Providence Art Club are excited to announce the call for entry for organization’s third biennial College Exhibition which will take place February 18 – March 7, 2024. For the exhibition, the Club seeks entries from visual arts students at colleges and universities throughout the state of Rhode Island.
The application is free and each student may submit two works for consideration. The exhibition will be juried by Art Club gallery manager Michael Rose and over $1,000 in cash prizes will be awarded. One award-winning student will also be offered a solo exhibition at the Art Club in 2025.
Applications are due by January 31, 2024 and full details are available at www.provideneartclub.org.
Of the call for entry, Rose says, “All of us at the Art Club are delighted to host the third biennial installment of our popular College Exhibition this winter. One of the state’s great assets is the thriving community of young artists training at our colleges and universities and we are delighted to offer these emerging talents the opportunity to show in our galleries.”
This is the third installment of the Club’s biennial College Exhibition, which has previously featured works by students from nearly every institution in the state. Past first place winners have included Conor Gewirtz of RISD and Crickett Fisher of RIC. The show is made possible with generous funding from the Glucksman Family and enables the historic Art Club to engage with a new generation of artists. For many participants, this show will be their first professional exhibition.
