Get Your Holidays On! Strolling Rolling Apponaug Winter Festival
Warwick’s Apponaug Village will transform into a first of its kind Winter Festival on Saturday, December 9th from 9am-3pm.
The magical event will include a holiday parade kicking off at 10 am, along with dozens of local vendors, food trucks, live music, horse and carriage rides, balloon art, face painting, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus and many more family-friendly activities, including a scavenger hunt!
Please be aware there will be road closures and detours in the area. City Hall will not be open to parking.
Traffic update:
December 9th from 8am to approximately 3 pm, the City of Warwick City Hall and Warwick RI Tourism Department will be hosting “The Strolling Rolling Apponaug Winter Festival.” Please be advised of the road closures and restrictions for the day.
*Post Road from the Walgreens roundabout to the West Shore Rd roundabout from 8:30 a.m. until the end of the festival (approximately 3 p.m.) will be CLOSED to traffic.
Residents along the southerly side of Post Road are encouraged to park on Pleasant Street, Prospect Street, or Colonial Avenue to allow for access out of the neighborhood during the event.
*Veterans Memorial Drive easterly from the Dunkin’ Donuts roundabout at Greenwich Avenue will be CLOSED to traffic from 9:00 a.m. to approximately 11:00 a.m. for the Winter Holiday Parade.
*Westbound West Shore Road traffic will be detoured up Shippee Avenue to Lockhart Avenue until the parade passes Shippee Avenue.
*Post Road southbound traffic will not be permitted to travel to West Shore Road during the parade.
Motorists are encouraged to utilize Main Avenue to reach West Shore Road.
