Rhode Island Weather for September 7, 2023 – John Donnelly

Another hot one, maybe the hottest, with an afternoon high expected to spike in the mid 90’s with dew points in the mid to upper 60’s, so add the muggies for some local flavor. Morning lows in the low 70’s with some haze and coastal mist, giving way to clear skies and a light southwesterly heat pump of a breeze. Any thunderstorms will remain well to the west over the highlands of western CT and MA and fizzle long before getting anywhere near us.

John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. As a child John always wanted to know how air moved, and he ran towards, not away from, thunder and lighting and various other ominous weather phenomena.
