Accessibility is Beautiful R.A.M.P. event to help businesses increase accessibility
Accessibility is Beautiful will be a full day event to help you and your business become accessible to those with physical access concerns. The event is being shared by Tina Pedersen, CEO, President, and Founder of RAMP (Real Access Motivates Progress), a non-profit that educates and advocates for accessibility and inclusion.
The event will be held on Saturday, September 23 · 11am – 5pm at The Steel Yard, 27 Sims Avenue Providence.
Three examples of who might attend this event:
- A local bar became accessible and because business increased so much they opened a second location and included accessibility right from the start.
- A local ocean front business put in mobi mats to make the beach surrounding their already accessible inside and their business TRIPLED!!
- A busy business street redid their sideways and grated the cement right to the business doors. Now where mobility aid users could get into one business, now they can get into 19. The street is busier than ever with all the extra business it opened them up to.
Attendees will network with others. There will also be a raffle to win a free accessible ramp, customized to your business.
Attendees will get a FREE accessibility assessment for areas of their business.
Information about grants and tax incentives will be available.
The event is being described as a FREE family friendly event, not a stuffy lecture or workshop.
Vendors, food trucks, kids corner, entertainment, guest speakers, fun demonstrations, tours and do much more!
This event will celebrate diversity and inclusion, help local businesses learn how to become accessible, & include individuals of all abilities. Hear from fellow business owners, community advocates, and legislators about ways to innovate your business for a more accessible future.
