May is Mental Health Month. Speakers, awards, Hero of the Year at State House kickoff

May is Mental Health Month in Rhode Island and in the US. The formal kickoff of the month’s activities will be held on Thursday, April 27th at 2pm at the RI State House.
The speaking program of leaders in the mental health arena will include presentations by recipients of the system’s services, families and advocates.
Awards will be made and the 2023 Mental Health Hero award will be presented to Megan N. Clingham, the state’s Mental Health Advocate.
Legislators of the year are Rep. Jacqueline Baginski and Rep. Josh Miller.
Special speakers are Richard Charest, head of BHDDH and Barbara Morse of NBC10.
The event is open to the public and is part of a full month of activities of the Mental Health Association of Rhode Island
