Addressing the mental health needs of youth in Rhode Island’s Washington County
A Data Briefing & Panel Discussion – Addressing the Mental Health Needs of Washington County’s Youth will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 7:00-8:30 PM at the Kingston Congregational Church, 2610 Kingstown Rd (Rt. 138), in Kingston.
Kelsey Bala & Kaitlyn Rabb, Policy Analysts at RI KIDS COUNT, will present the local data briefing. Kelsey Bala is responsible for policy analysis, advocacy, research, and project management on child welfare & juvenile justice issues. Kelsey received her Bachelor of Science from Gordon College and her Master of Public Health from Brown University with a concentration in Maternal and Child Health. Kelsey has a background in adolescent mental health and worked as a Clinical Research Assistant at Bradley Hasbro Children’s Research Center.
Kaitlyn Rabb is responsible for policy analysis, advocacy, research, and project management in areas related to health. Kaitlyn received both her Bachelor of Arts and her Master of Public Health from Brown University. She also concentrated in Maternal and Child Health. While at Brown, she worked on the issue of childhood obesity, developing training curriculum materials for a family-based child weight management intervention through the Hassenfeld Child Health Institute.
Following the data presentation by RI KIDS COUNT, there will be a panel discussions with both local school leaders & members of the South County Caucus – RI General Assembly.
The current youth mental health crisis demands our attention. Join us for this important data briefing and dialogue with local leaders about the mental health needs of our children & youth, as well as what we can do to support them.
