Business Beat: Sue Silva joins Engel & Völkers as Real Estate Advisor
Luxury Rhode Island real estate brokerage gains award-winning advisor
Engel & Völkers of East Greenwich announced today that Sue Silva has joined its brokerage as a real estate advisor, bringing more than 30 years of industry experience to this new role.
Sue has a decorated background in the real estate industry. She has received the Five Star Real Estate Agent Award 13 times and she has received the 100% RE/MAX Club Award every year since 2012. She was an Executive Club Award recipient in 2017 and a Hall of Fame Achievement recipient in 2019. Sue has also been featured in Rhode Island Monthly and HGTV Magazine. She worked in the real estate industry for 17 years prior to becoming a real estate advisor.
Her career began at RE/MAX Central as an administrator, working on weekends. After receiving a Paralegal certificate from Katharine Gibbs College, Sue served as a real estate paralegal for several attorneys before she was recruited into the mortgage industry, rising in rank to assistant vice president at Money America Home Mortgage Center. Sue eventually joined Wachovia (now Wells Fargo), where she worked in the closing department. Not long after, Sue stepped into sales, becoming a loan officer in 2003.
She received her real estate license in 2009 and her industry expertise quickly paid off. Sue received the Rookie of the Year Award her first year as a real estate advisor. She joins Engel & Völkers from RE/MAX Real Estate Center, where she has worked since 2009.
“Engel & Völkers has relit a spark in me,” says Sue. “Their global brand recognition and amazing business strategy, along with their innovative advisor and client tools will take my business to the next level while providing my clients the highest level of service.”
Sue specializes in waterfront properties and has assisted countless transactions across the Ocean State, particularly around Johnson’s Pond in Coventry. Being a lifelong Rhode Islander has allowed her to help hundreds of families navigate the complexities of purchasing and selling their homes throughout the state. “Sometimes people don’t know where they want to be, but know what they want in a home,” says Sue. “That’s where having a deep understanding of the state’s cities and communities allows me to find not only a home, but a community that matches my client’s needs and interests.”
She is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Kent Washington Association of Realtors, the Rhode Island Association of Realtors, and the Connecticut Association of Realtors. She is also a member of Women Empowered, the AAA Regional Charitable Giving Team, and she has held several positions at the Johnson’s Pond Civic Association over the years. Sue is licensed in RI and CT.
