Gimme’ Shelter – Nomad at Providence Animal Control

Each week we feature a new pet in need of a home who is now living at the Providence Animal Control Center. This week we introduce… Nomad!

Some say black cats are the last to be adopted – (editor’s note: we have two and our family members have others… they are the most adorable!).

Hey out there! I am a community cat that came in for drooling, turns out I had one of my teeth stuck in the roof of my mouth – Ouch! The tooth has been pulled but I need more dental work which is coming, and I’m all on a schedule to get that taken care of. I am FIV+ but that doesn’t bother me at all! I can live with positive or negative cats! I am affectionate and I roll over and I am an all around wonderful cat!

About the Providence Animal Control Division

The Providence Animal Control Division protects the health and safety of our residents and their pets with progressive leadership and education, and continues to engage the hearts and minds of the community to help all animals.

As of November 2015, the Animal Control Division has adopted a “low risk euthanasia” philosophy of healthy adoptable animals and will continue to improve the live release rate of shelter animals via adoptions, returning strays to their owners, transferring animals to rescues, TNR, programs/services and treating medical cases. We believe that with progressive programs, we can have a more humane City. Through our Gimme Shelter program, PAC is spaying and neutering owned and feral cats for Providence residents.
