RI Weekend Weather, Oct. 8/9, 2022 – John Donnelly
by John Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday 10/8/22:
A cold front will pass in the night with the chance for some early morning light rain showers somewhere in the area, but nothing widespread, should be over with by sunrise. Noticeably cooler behind the front, afternoon highs reaching only the upper 50’s followed by evening lows in the mid 40’s.
Sunday 10/9/22:
Mostly clear today as high pressure keeps building in over the area and suppresses nearly all cloud development. A chilly morning low flirting with the 40 mark, then warming to a seasonable 60 during the afternoon. Westerly breezes will be up a bit, some gusts poking into the mid 20 mph range

John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. As a child John always wanted to know how air moved, and he ran towards, not away from, thunder and lighting and various other ominous weather phenomena. He returned in 2001 to the old family neighborhood of Elmhurst where the McCabe’s, Donnelly’s, Walker’s and Callan’s have been since after the Civil War.
