Gimme’ Shelter: Meow Meow’s waiting at the Providence Animal Control Center
Hello, hello! I’m a 3 (or so) year old cat from the streets with a cool story to tell.
My feeder was concerned I would make kittens and wanted to prevent that… High Fives!
So, I was TNR’d back in April 22 and enjoyed visiting all my people. I loved hanging out at the Family Dollar and then be on my way to the next friend I would visit but, this heat wave… not fun.
I have tamed up enough that it would be safer if I was a house cat and I am ready! My hormones have run out and I am good to go.
I have been completely comfortable being at PAC – it’s pretty cool. I am outgoing and the life of the party and don’t seem to mind cat friendly dogs!
Special thanks to my caregivers who did an awesome job at reaching out to get me neutered and for taming me too! I am the best me I can be now!

As of November 2015, the Animal Control Division has adopted a “low risk euthanasia” philosophy of healthy adoptable animals and will continue to improve the live release rate of shelter animals via adoptions, returning strays to their owners, transferring animals to rescues, TNR, programs/services and treating medical cases. We believe that with progressive programs, we can have a more humane City. Through our Gimme Shelter program, PAC is spaying and neutering owned and feral cats for Providence residents. I would love to volunteer for shying from walking or playing with the animals or fostering as I already do for the RISPCA. I’ve fostered both cats and dogs and I truly treat them as my own. My last foster was sadly an cruelty case and terrified of everything. I managed to change that. I brought him for his very first salon visit where he was spruced up and given a pedicure. I even found the perfect home for him and delivered him there myself after all of his fees were paid.
