RI Weekend Weather Wrap – Sat/Sun – 1/18 & 1/19, 2020
By Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday, 1/18/20:
We’ll wake to a bitter cold morning low temp in the high single digits and wind chills near 0, but a wind shift later on to southerly will allow temps to rebound a bit to a late afternoon high in the low to mid 30’s. Cloud cover will be thickening as well as a midwestern winter storm moves through later in the day with snow beginning mid-afternoon and accumulating about 2-3 inches before changing over to rain later in the evening.
Sunday 1/19/20:
Most if not all of the precipitation will be done by sunrise Sunday, maybe some lingering flurries and light snow showers driven diagonally by decent northwesterly breezes through the morning hours. Low temps around freezing climb to the low to mid 40’s by afternoon, some welcome relative warmth with added afternoon sunshine helping to melt away some of the white gold.
