In the Arena – with Dave Chenevert, RI Manufacturers Assoc.
Every Sunday, Joe Paolino, Jr. hosts In The Arena, featuring a lively 1/2 hour discussion of issues relevant to all Rhode Islanders.
This week Joe interviews Dave Chenevert, Executive Director of the RI Manufacturers Association. They talk about economic development in Rhode Island, hiring difficulties in the state, including candidates for employment, training, the jewelry industry, how more products are being made in the US due to supply chain difficulties, etc. 40,000 people now in 16,000 companies are working.
They also discuss the Governor’s commitment to small business. The PPP Tax is a bone of contention between the group and the Gov’s office. We need to reach out to all companies, not just small companies.
The shows airs at 7am on Sundays on ABC6 Television.
Nice Job Dave! The supply chain seems to be a double edge sword, it has both helped us with reshoring and hurt us. It would be wonderful for RI to have a state position as a CMO(Chief Manufacturing Officer) like CT. does!
