RI Weekend Weather Wrap – Oct. 30/31, 2021 – John Donnelly
by John Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday, 10/30/21:
A broad low pressure system over the mid-west will spawn development of a secondary low off the mid Atlantic coast which then moves north, driving Atlantic moisture across the resulting warm front, generating steady light rainfall through the morning.
We may see a gap during the afternoon before the system’s occluded front sweeps through and triggers some pockets of embedded heavier rainfall in the evening. Morning lows in the mid 50’s rising to the low 60’s in the afternoon with a gusty southeasterly breeze.
Halloween 10/31/21:

This latest frontal system rides the witches broom northeastward out of our area, but we may be haunted by a stray shower left behind in its wake early. Morning lows in the mid 50’s rise in the afternoon to the mid 60’s with a gusty southwesterly breeze.
Trick-or-Treaters should not have any serious weather to deal with, as the late afternoon and evening look mostly dry and not terribly cool, late afternoon temps in the mid 60s dropping to the upper 50’s before 8 or 9 o’clock, so purple lips and frozen fingertips will not be seen, unless it’s part of a costume.
