Gimme’ Shelter – Meet Wilbur! A sweet snuggler
“Wilbur” is a sweet neutered stocky tan and white terrier mix. We think he’s about 3 to 5 years old and as sweet as can be. He loves to give piggy-oink kisses and would love to have his own person to snuggle with.
Wilbur knows basic commands and does well in his kennel. He seems to be house broken and is a very clean pup. He walks well on the leash and has a good temperament.
He would do best in an adult home and/or with teenage-aged children, as he is stocky and does get excited sometimes. He seems to do well walking by the other dogs in the shelter, so he might do well with a friend!
He is up to date with his rabies and distemper vaccine; he has been micro-chipped by our shelter, and is heartworm negative.
If you are interested in Wilbur, you can find information, here, as well as other pets ready for adoption: https://www.petfinder.com/dog/wilbur-50544945/ri/providence/providence-animal-control-ri79/
About the Providence Animal Control Division
The Providence Animal Control Division protects the health and safety of our residents and their pets with progressive leadership and education, and continues to engage the hearts and minds of the community to help all animals.
As of November 2015, the Animal Control Division has adopted a “low risk euthanasia” philosophy of healthy adoptable animals and will continue to improve the live release rate of shelter animals via adoptions, returning strays to their owners, transferring animals to rescues, TNR, programs/services and treating medical cases. We believe that with progressive programs, we can have a more humane City. Through our Gimme Shelter program, PAC is spaying and neutering owned and feral cats for Providence residents. To participate please send a message through our FaceBook page at Providence Animal Care Center.
Do you have reduced adoption fees for seniors on fixed incomes? I love Wilbur, but can’t afford his adoption fee.
I don’t know, Sue – but I would encourage you to get in touch with the adoption agency – I’m sure they can answer all your questions.
