RI Weekend Weather Wrap – Jan 16/17, 2021
by Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday 01/16/21:
Some stormy weather through midday with plenty of wind driven rain, heavy at times. Probably a little over an inch of liquid and strong southeasterly winds gusting towards 50 mph, particularly along the coastal areas. All of the southeasterly flow will drag warm air into the region, but you’ll need a strong umbrella and a windbreaker to enjoy it. Afternoon highs around 50, morning and evening lows in the mid 30’s.
Sunday 01/17/21:

Storm heads out to sea via the Gulf of Maine, and leaves behind some still significant breezes and gusts out of the west generally, topping out around 30 mph. We should get some clearing just after sunrise, and still warm conditions, although not quite the same as Saturday, but warmer than normal highs in the low 40’s from morning lows in the mid 30’s.
