RI Weather Today, Friday 11/8/19:
By Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
Strong northwesterly flow pouring in behind the cold front that is now well out to sea will keep temperatures down for the day, highs remaining in the upper 30’s despite clearing skies. Winds will be fairly strong with gusts reaching towards 30 mph that will probably take down some weakened branches and kick up some previously fallen leaf and tree debris. Wind chills will likely be the most noticeable aspect, with readings in the mid 20’s. The low temperatures will occur in the evening as clear skies will allow for some radiational cooling, yet not get so low due to the winds that will remain in a 10 to 15 mph range until after midnight.
