Worship and Spirituality in the COVID Era: Providence College
Providence College will hold a special ZOOM event as part of its Jewish-Catholic Theological Exchange. “Worship and Spirituality in the COVID Era: A Conversation between a Catholic and a Jew” event will be held on Thursday, October 29th from 6-7pm.
The webinar features:
Deborah Johnson: PC Professor Emerita of Art History and Women’s Studies and Cantor at Temple Sinai (Cranston)
Margaret Felice, Catholic educator, writer, and classical singer
In this Zoom webinar the panelists will discuss how the pandemic has impacted the ways we worship, our religious identities, and experiences of community. They may also treat attendees with some sacred song.
Arthur Urbano, of Providence College says, “The COVID-19 epidemic has changed our lives in many, many ways. Thankfully our religious traditions provide us with means to respond to the current situation with hope in God’s providence and concern for our neighbors. Like David we cry out, “Do not afflict your people with this plague!” (1 Chronicles 21:17)” Urbano is a Professor, and Chair, Jewish-Catholic Theological Exchange Committee, Department of Theology, at Providence College.
To register for the event: Go to: https://bit.ly/3lWoXLg – you will receive the Zoom link by email the week of the event.
Urbano adds, “The economic impact of the COVID epidemic is being felt everywhere. Budgets are being scaled down and even slashed. Please consider making a gift to the Jewish-Catholic Theological Exchange series (JCTE) to make sure we can continue our important programming.”
