47th Pawtucket Open Tennis Tournament set
The Pawtucket Parks & Recreation Division will be hosting the 47th Pawtucket Open Tennis Tournament at the Kenney Tennis Courts located in Slater Memorial Park. Matches will begin Friday, August 19th and will continue through Monday, August 22, if needed.
Divisions for this tournament will include a Singles event for men and women, a Singles event for men ages 50 and older, a Doubles Division for men and for women as well as a mixed doubles Division. Fees are $15 for residents and $20 for non-residents, while doubles events are $25 per team. Participants must be 18 years of age or older and may enter for a maximum of two events only.
On Friday, August 19th, sign in will start at 5 pm with matches start promptly at between 5:45 and 6:00 pm. Weekend match times starting promptly at 9:00 am. Participants are asked to be available for the entirety of the tournament.
Online and in-person registrations are currently taking place online and at the Slater Park Office Monday through Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. For those who wish to register online, instructions are available on the City of Pawtucket website at www.pawtucketri.com under the Parks & Recreation tab. Click the tennis icon notation “Pawtucket Open”. Interested participants can also visit the Slater Park Tennis Facebook page for continuous updates, information or programs related to tennis.
The registration deadline is Friday, August 12 by 4:30 pm.
