2020 Meeting Street Telethon Raises Over $1 Million
Meeting Street is pleased to announce that its 44th annual telethon presented by Cardi’s Furniture and Mattresses raised $1,064,405 during its broadcast on WPRI 12 and WPRI.com on January 25th. The annual event, which is the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year, attracted hundreds of guests to its Providence campus, and tens of thousands of television viewers.
“We are truly amazed by the results of this year’s telethon and are so thankful to have a wonderful community of supporters who believe in our mission, which began more than 70 years ago,” said John M. Kelly, President of Meeting Street. “These funds allow Meeting Street to grow our services and bring our innovative, inclusive style of education and early childhood services to even more families in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.”
The four-hour show, hosted by WPRI 12 news anchors as well as Meeting Street children, included an inside look at Meeting Street’s early childhood and school programs, special segments featuring current and former students, and live interviews with Meeting Street supporters, staff and families.
